What are the Job duties?

- Able to serve clients with different backgrounds, family cultures, and needs
- Data reporting
- Aware of the community she serves and able to do some community outreach
- Creates Birth Plan with Client
- Provides Continuous Labor Support
- Provides 1 on 1 and group childbirth education for client and family
- Provides support during pregnancy, labor and/ or postpartum
- Encourage Breastfeeding and provide some basic peer breastfeeding counseling
- Assist client in creating a Self Sufficiency Plan
- Provides sex and reproductive health education
- Provide contraception education
- Managing filing system for assigned clients
- Recording information and notes as needed
- Keep track BBC schedules and calendars
- Updating paperwork, maintaining documents and word processing
- Helping organize and maintain office common areas including vacuuming and dishwashing as needed
- Performing general office clerk duties and errands when needed
- Maintaining supply inventory
- Maintaining office equipment as needed
- Creating, maintaining, and entering information into databases
- Assist in creating, and writing class materials such as PowerPoint presentations, agendas
- Assist with classes for clients and future independent Perinatal Support Persons
- Attend staff meetings and professional development and assist as needed
- Attend meetings, conferences, community events and workshops pertaining to BBC, BBC work or maternal – child health as able
