Birthing Beautiful Communities Receives $400,000 Grant from The Felix Family Foundation

Cleveland, OH – Every healthy birth begins with a community that believes families deserve to be seen, supported, and cared for. That belief is at the heart of both Birthing Beautiful Communities (BBC) and The Felix Family Foundation, making this partnership a meaningful investment in a future where birth equity is no longer an aspiration but rather, it is the standard.

BBC is honored to receive a $400,000 unrestricted grant from The Felix Family Foundation, a donor-advised fund sponsored and administered by National Philanthropic Trust. Launched in 2024 following a contribution from Pivotal Philanthropies, the foundation is advised by Olympic champion and maternal health advocate Allyson Felix and is dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of women from diverse communities while driving lasting change in maternal health and birth equity.

This investment recognizes the work happening every day at BBC to ensure Black families have access to compassionate, culturally rooted care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey. From doulas and mental health support to essential resources and the future Birthing Beautiful Communities Birth Center, BBC is working to build a system

where families don’t have to fight to be heard—they are cared for from the very beginning.

The Felix Family Foundation shares that vision, investing in organizations that are reimagining maternal healthcare and creating systems where every family has the opportunity to thrive.

“Birthing Beautiful Communities is showing what’s possible when families are met with compassionate, community-centered care. We’re proud to support an organization that is not only serving families today but also helping shape a better future for maternal health. We hope this investment helps strengthen and expand the incredible work they’re already leading.” – Allyson Felix

“This grant is more than funding—it is a vote of confidence in what community-led care can accomplish,” said Jazmin Long, Birthing Beautiful Communities President and CEO. “We’re beyond grateful to The Felix Family Foundation for believing, as we do, that every family deserves a healthy beginning, and that transforming maternal health starts by investing in the people and communities closest to the work.”

Together, Birthing Beautiful Communities and The Felix Family Foundation are helping write a different story—one where birth is safer, families are stronger, and every parent is met with dignity, compassion, and joy.
